CROSS LAKE and FORT KENT – Claire (Roy) Bouchard, 85, died Sept. 19, 2007, at a Fort Kent health care facility. She was born Oct. 28, 1921, in Fort Kent, daughter of George and Leona (Daigle) Roy. Claire was a graduate of the University of Maine – Fort Kent. She taught school in the Caribou School Department and MSAD No. 27, Fort Kent. She and her husband lived in Caribou until transferred to Fort Kent and then retired in 1982. She and her husband traveled extensively after retirement and spent their winters in Destin, Fla. She was a member of the Maine State Retired Teachers Association, past president of Beta Sigma Phi, Caribou and was active in community affairs. She enjoyed snowmobiling, golfing, bridge and euchre. She is survived by her daughter, Cricket Marie Minet of Cross Lake; two sons, William and Theresa Bouchard of Illinois, and Roy and Sue Gawler Bouchard of Belgrade; grandchildren, Teri Bonds of Floriday, Vicki Irsik of Kansas, Kevin Cyr of Colorado, Kenneth Bouchard of Illinois, Billie Jo Yahl of Missouri, Erica Bouchard of Illinois and Jackson and Irina of Maine; great-grandchildren, Mathew and Gregory Bonds, Katie and Andre Cyr, Jordan, Joshua, Easton, Braydon Irsik and Kaylee Jo Yahl; sisters, Valerie and Jim Smith of California, Juliet Gagnon, Vi and Lou Ouellet and Bernice Cyr, all of Fort Kent; brother, Clifford and Annette Roy of Fort Kent; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Kenneth Bouchard in 2000; and sisters, Marie Augustine Ford and Janet Cannan. There will be no viewing at the funeral home. Family and friends are asked to attend a Mass of Christian burial 10 a.m. Oct. 12, at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. In lieu of flowers, donation in her memory may be made to the Guy J.
