BREWER – Clarence “Ike” Everett Winslow, of Brewer, passed away Wed-nesday, March 2, 2005 at the Maine Veterans’ Home in Bangor. Clarence was born May 24, 1916, the son of Blanch (Kingsbury) and Harry Winslow of North Brewer. Clarence was proud to have served his country in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1946. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing in his earlier days. He spent many happy days at Lucerne Lake with his friends. As a child, the banks of the Penobscot River in Brewer were his playground. He also enjoyed riding horses, walking his dogs, and was an avid cribbage player. Some of his former employers were Dunham Hanson, Acme Dunham and Emerson’s Dry Goods of Brewer. Surviving are his wife, Bernice F. Winslow of Brewer; a daughter, Anita L. Bligh and her husband, Bob, of Chateaugay, N.Y.; two sons, David East Winslow and his wife, Sylvia, of Bangor, and Robert C. Winslow and his wife, Ruth, of E. Holden; one sister, Lillian Winchester and her husband, Sidney, of Brewer; two brothers, Carl Winslow and his wife, Erdine, of Ellsworth and Johnny Winslow and his wife, Marion, of Leavitt Town, Pa.; nieces and nephews. Friends may call 4-6 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2005, at Brookings-Smith Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Interment will be in Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Augusta.
