FRANKFORT – Clayton Arthur Wing, 86, the husband of Alice M. (Patterson) Wing, passed away unexpectedly July 15, 2005, at a Brewer healthcare facility. He was born Nov. 26, 1918, in Hampden, the son of Willy and Mildred (Ellingwood) Wing. Clayton was a graduate of Winterport High School and lived in Frankfort for more than 56 years. Before his retirement he raised chickens for Maplewood Poultry. He enjoyed his vegetable gardens, mowing his lawn, doing crossword puzzles and playing scratch tickets. But his focus in life was always on his family whom he loved dearly. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Clayton is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Alice of Frankfort; his children, Sandra Gilbert of Waterville, Donna Cunningham and her husband, Merlin, of Winterport, Sharon Cunningham and Wayne McKay of Glenburn, Steven Wing and Cathy Ryan of Prospect, Susan Rancourt and her husband, Kenneth Jr., of Alaska, Debra Wing and Marty McKeen of Stockton Springs, and Kathy Trefethen and her husband, Nathan, of Stockton Springs; nine grandchildren; four great-grand-children; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, a brother, Elton Wing; a sister, Alice Mason; and a granddaughter, Sherry-Lee Gilbert. A graveside memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Pilgrim’s Home Cemetery, Monroe, with Pastor Donald Campbell, pastor emeritus of Nealley’s Corner Church officiating.
