HOULTON and MONTICELLO – Doris L. Swimm Foster, 86, wife of the late Hillstien F. Foster, died July 11, 2005, at Madigan Estates Nurs-ing Home. She was born Oct. 12, 1918, at Monticello, the daughter of Jesse and Beulah (White) Swimm. Doris was employed as an accredited record technician at the Madigan Memorial Hospital and Houlton Regional Hospital. She was a member of the Monticello United Methodist Church, the Monticello Mistletoe Club and a lifelong member of the Houlton Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by her children, Rodney Foster, Angela Cowperthwaite and her husband, Robert, all of Houlton; three grandchildren, Eric Cowperthwaite and his wife, Audra, of Hermon, Sarah Noland and her husband, James, Martha Bell and her husband, Christopher, all of Wilmington, N.C.; four great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Zachary, Margaret and Leah; five brothers, Garth, Glen, Bob, Paul and Dale Swimm; three sisters, Ruth Swimm, Autice Socoby and Jeanette Swallow; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, five brothers, Lawrence, Lee, Bernard, Fred and Vaughn Swimm; three sisters, Reta Rafford, Lorraine Wilson and Della Mills. Friends may call at the Monticello United Methodist Church Wednesday, July 13, from noon until time of the service 1 p.m. with the Rev. Naomi Sam’Kpakra officiating.
