CORINTH and BREWER – Clayton H. Miller, 75, husband of 47 years to Ann (Ricker) Miller, died Jan. 14, 2007, at a Bangor hospital. He was born May 9, 1931, in Brewer, the son of Kenneth M. and Mildred V. (Bragdon) Miller. He graduated from Brewer High School and attended Husson College. Clayton began his working career at McGary Optical and later worked for Bangor Hydro, retiring after 27 years of service. He was a member of Rising Virtue Masonic Lodge No. 10 AF & AM. Clayton was an avid sports enthusiast, enjoying fishing and hunting. Surviving, in addition to his wife, Ann, are two sons, Kenneth W. Miller and his wife, Barbara Heal Miller, of Winterport and James R. Miller and his wife, Sanae, of Roseville, Calif.; four granddaughters, Sarabeth and Carianne Miller of Winterport and Stacy and Kate Miller of Roseville, Calif.; a sister, Beatrice Anderson of Cherry Hill, N.J.; nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, Gordon “Jack” Miller. Clayton had a very full and diversified life despite his challenging physical limitations. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer, with the Rev. Cynthia Nickerson, pastor of the Corinth United Methodist Church, officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to call 3-5 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 17, at the funeral home. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments after the service Thursday at the Brookings-Smith, Reception Rooms, 55 South Main St., Brewer.
