CARIBOU – Clifford C. Durost Sr., 83, died Jan. 27, 2005, at the Maine Veterans Home in Caribou. He was born July 13, 1921, in Fort Fairfield, the son of Charles and Millie (Everett) Durost. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He is survived by his wife, Ada (Easler) Durost of Caribou; three sons, Clifford C. Durost Jr. of Caribou, Charles Durost and his wife, Mora, of Washburn, Earl Durost and his wife, Wanda, of Presque Isle; seven daughters, Faye Hanson and her husband, Stephen, of Fort Fairfield, Betty LaPlante of Mapleton, Joyce Boyington and her fianc?e, Rick Doak, of Caribou, Mary Rossingnol and her husband, Philip, of Van Buren, Jane Ponte and her husband, Richard, of Chester, Cathy Leavitt and her husband, David, of Caribou, Lois Murphy and her husband, Roger, of New Jersey; 19 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; three brothers, Oren Durost of Pennsylvania , Arnold Durost, Robert Durost both of Fort Fairfield; one sister, Alice Durost of Fort Fairfield; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Joyce (Corey) Durost; two brothers, John and Walter Durost; two sisters, Lou Durost and Helen Durost. Relatives and friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Friday, at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, at the Washburn Pentecostal Church with Rev. Bruce Blakney officiating. A military committal will be held at Crouseville Cemetery in the spring.
