FRENCHVILLE and MADAWASKA – Clifford Chasse, 87, died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2006, at a Fort Kent hospital. He was born May 30, 1919, in Grand Isle, the son of the late Thomas and Lizzianne Chasse. Until recently he was a volunteer for the RSVP program, driving countless area residents to their medical appointments throughout the county. Clifford was a prankster and loved to play jokes on his family and friends. He will be missed by all who had the privilege to know him. He is survived by his wife, Alice (Lavoie) of Madawaska; their three children, Marcel “Chase” and his special friend, Corinne, of Frenchville, Lucie and her special friend, Robert, of Madawaska and Palmyra, Joel and his wife, Shannon, of Fort Kent. He will be missed by his six grandchildren, Nathan, Allison and Ryan Picard, Morgan, Isiac and Hannah Chasse. Clifford is also survived by his siblings, Romeo of Massachusetts, Leo of Pennsylvania, Marcella of Connecticut, Constance “Connie” of Maine; special sister-in-law, Anne Chasse of Maine; along with many special nieces, nephews; and a special friend, Rodney Soucy of Van Buren. Clifford was predeceased by his parents; his brother, Edmond; and sisters, Gertie LaPlante, Anita Faucher and Blanche Lagasse. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, at St. Luce Catholic Church, Frenchville.
