HERMON – Clyde E. Graves, 80, died peacefully April 29, 2006, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Nov. 13, 1925, in Levant, the son of Irving and Blanche (Longbottom) Graves. Clyde served in the Navy, was active in World War II and was then employed at Foster Grants in Massachusetts until his retirement. He returned to Maine and settled in Hermon with his wife and son. He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Edith A. Graves; his son, Jassen and his wife, Jennifer; and his two very special grandchildren, Jasmine and Jayda. Also surviving are his sisters, Helen Higgins of Levant, Pearl Shepard; and brother, Ronald Graves and his wife, Darlene, of Wisconsin. In addition to his parents, Clyde was predeceased by four of his brothers, Dale, Harry, Bill and Charles; and sisters, Marguerite and Hazel. A celebration ceremony honoring Clyde’s life will be held 10 a.m. Friday, May 5, at Brooking-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor with the Rev. Dr. Rex Garrett, director of Chaplaincy Services at EMMC officiating. All family and friends are welcome.
