GREENBUSH – On April 28, 2006, Stanley C. Buck left this world, surrounded by loved ones at his home in Greenbush. He was born Jan. 1, 1948. Stanley had a lifelong love of the outdoors, spending many hours stuck in the mud in pursuit of fish and game. Stanley was an avid coin and stamp collector and a history buff. Stanley belonged to the Old Town Elks Lodge, the Old Town VFW, and the Old Town Post of the American Legion. He enjoyed playing cards with his many friends at the clubs. Play a few hands for Dad folks. Stanley served his country in the Republic of Vietnam in the U.S. Army, where he was exposed to Agent Orange. All of our father’s severe chronic and terminal illnesses of the past 30 years have been positively link-ed to Agent Orange exposure. Stanley is survived by his parents, Rose and Amos “Bud” Buck; daughter, Sheila Buck and her companion, Frank Lombardo; son, Al “Chuck” Buck; daughter, Shannon Buck; son, Randy Steele and his wife, Kristine; grandchildren, Isaiah, Zach, Zowie, Skye and Sarah; sister, Sue Dugan and her husband, Daniel; brother, Gene Buck and his wife, Karen; sister, Robin Sibley and her husband, James; sister, Dottie Buxton; brother, Arthur Buck and his longtime companion, Grace Davis; and brother, Linwood Buck and his wife, Evelyn. Stan will also be missed by “adopted” daughters, Amy and Katie. Stanley’s children and family especially want to thank Katie for taking care of Dad and for taking care of us. We could not have made it through this without you, Katie. To CJ, Chip, Raymond and all the other very special friends Dad had made throughout the years, he remembered you all very fondly and those thoughts made him smile at the end and eased his passing. A very special thanks goes out to Duska and the whole staff of CHCS Hospice. As always, you made a difference. At Stanley’s request, there will be no viewing, instead we will have a picnic-style get-together Friday, May 5, at the family camp up on Summit Mountain. Signs will be posted along Route 2 in Costigan and along the Greenfield Road. This will be a very informal celebration of Stan’s life and the speaking will begin 3 p.m. Please bring your memories and stories of Dad and share them with us all. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Stan’s favorite charity, CancerCare of Maine, Ellen Steele Memorial Fund, 417 State St., Suite 20, Bangor, ME 04401
