VEAZIE – Coda E. Little, 82, died July 4, 2006, surrounded by family and friends at Maine Medical Center, Portland. He was born June 29, 1924, in Morrilton, Ark., the son of Coda F. Little and Ida (Crowder) Little Britt Hubbard. Coda was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a longtime resident of Veazie, where he was past president of the Veazie Senior Citizens. He was the past commander of the American Legion, Post No. 5, Waterville, served as commissioner of American Legion Baseball and was an avid Red Sox fan. Coda also enjoyed fishing. Surviving are three children, Thomas Little of Westbrook, Susan Little of East Vassalboro and Donald Brown of Pittsfield; two grandchildren; sisters, Verna Charton of Morrilton, Ariz. and Barbara Kay (Britt) Blalock of Baytown, Texas; brothers, Billy Little of Fort Worth, Texas and Dalton Britt of Beebe, Ariz.; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Viola (St. Germain) Little; and a brother, Herman E. Little. Family and friends may visit 6-8 p.m. Sunday and 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday at Kiley Funeral Home, 69 State St., Brewer, where a funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Patricia Moore presiding. A graveside committal service with military honors will be held noon Tuesday at the Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Civic Center Drive, Augusta.
