WINTERPORT – Cody J. Basso, 10, died unexpectedly April 12, 2005, at a Bangor hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 20, 1994, in Bangor, the son of Scott J. Basso and Gloria C. (Gaitan) Basso. He attended Leroy Smith School in Winterport. Cody had a heart of gold, and was full of hopes and dreams. Cody loved life and lived it to the fullest. He had a smile that could melt your heart. Cody enjoyed hanging out with his friends and spending time with them. Cody enjoyed playing Little League baseball for Winterport, his life dream was to play for the N.Y. Yankees. He had a special bond with his sister, Brianna, and always made sure he spent time with her. He will be greatly missed by everyone, especially his sister. Cody is survived by his parents, Scott J. Basso, Gloria C. Basso and sister, Brianna Basso, all of Winterport, stepbrother and stepsister, Edwin and Angelica Feliciano of Florida; paternal grandmother, Linda Basso of Winterport; maternal grandparents, Frank and Juanita Gaitan of Texas; great-grandmother, Evelyn Inman of Winterport; great-grandmother, Rose Basso of Peekskill, N.Y., uncle, Michael and aunt, Brandy Basso of Winterport, uncle, Brad Basso and his girlfriend, Amy, of Winterport; many aunts, uncles, and a special godmother, Patty Preston of Winterport. He was predeceased by his sister, Shanda Rene Basso; brother, Brandon John Basso; grandfather, John Charles Basso; and great-grandfather, Clifford Inman, all of Winterport. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Friday, April 15, 2005, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Robert T. Carlson, Chaplain of the Penobscot County Sheriff Office, officiating. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor.
