EDDINGTON – Collins “Yorkie” F. York Sr., 79, passed away Oct. 27, 2007, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Dec. 11, 1927, in Swanville, the son of Milford and Jessie (Harvey) York. He worked as a truck driver. He loved music and dancing, family get-togethers, watching westerns and wrestling on TV. He was a member of the Singles Club, North Brewer and was president of the club for a few years. He loved animals and his Chihuahua, Spot. Yorkie loved to go for rides before he became sick. He was predeceased by his wife, Naoma; three children, Wayne, Collins Jr. and Ronald. Survivors include his children, Larry D. York Sr. and wife, Barbara, of Warren, Raylene “Monika” Lee and husband, Terry, of Waldo, Michael D. York and wife, Judy, of Lincoln-ville and Richard D. York and wife, Adrian, of Swanville; sister, Goldie Green of Belmont; several grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews; his companion of 13 years, Thelma Giggey of Eddington. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at Union Cemetery, Lincolnville, with a gathering to be at Lincolnville Grange Hall. Arrangements are under the care of Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast.
