FORT FAIRFIELD – Mrs. Constance “Connie” E. Beckwith, 73, wife of the late Delbert “Deb” C. Beckwith, died Wednesday morning, July 14, 2004, at a Bangor healthcare facility following a brief illness. She was born July 30, 1930, at New Sweden, the daughter of Alf and Judith (Anderson) Espling. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Delbert “Deb” C. Beckwith on June 7, 1993; and one grandson, John Collin Beckwith. She is survived by her four children, Laurie J. Lawler of Bangor, J. Chipman Beckwith and his wife, Janet, Jill Beckwith, all of Fort Fairfield; Paul D. Beckwith and his wife, Deborah, of Ellsworth; eight grandchildren, Patrick and Katherine Lawler, Lindsay, Justin and Lauren Beckwith, Erin, Julie and Delbert Beckwith. She is also survived by her brother, Gordon Espling of Eagle Lake; her sister, Greta Cote of Cream Ridge, N.J.; and a special cousin, Lynn Silcox of Hollis. At Mrs. Beckwith’s request, there will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, July 16, at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield, with the Rev. L. Chanel Cyr and the Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie officiating. A reception for relatives and friends will be held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. Chipman Beckwith, 116 Hopkins Road, Fort Fairfield, immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute in memory of Mrs. Beckwith to the Fort Fairfield Public Library, 339 Main St., Fort Fairfield, ME 04742 or to a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements are in the care of Dorsey Funeral Home, Fort Fairfield.
