SPRINGFIELD – Phillip D. Spencer, 69, died July 14, 2004, at his home. He was born Sept. 16, 1934, in Springfield, the son of Orris F. and Susie E. (Davis) Spencer. Phillip was a woodsman all of his life, and really enjoyed his work. He liked to put together puzzles, and enjoyed attending local country music shows. He also enjoyed hunting, ice fishing and snow-sledding. He is survived by five brothers, Clifford and Carroll, both of Springfield, Avon and his wife, Kathy, of North Carolina, Dale and his wife, Beulah, of Dixmont and Dana of Gardiner; two sisters, Lottie and her husband, Blake Stevens, of Lee, and Marcia Grattan of Lincoln; nieces, Lauralee, Barbara, Vickie and her husband, Doug, Deborah, Shannon and her husband, Terry; grandnieces and grandnephews, Samantha, Douglas, Brooke, Marie, Ronald, Blake and Timothy. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Patricia Moore officiating.
