ORONO – Constance H. “Connie” Hart, 74, died after a brief illness May 13, 2004, at a Bangor healthcare facility, with her children at her side. She was born Jan. 14, 1930, in Machias, the daughter of Frank Leslie and Marie Elizabeth (Pennell) Holway. Connie attended Fisher College in Boston, Mass., and Beal Business College, Bangor. For 23 years she worked as the administrative assistant at the Orono Police and Fire Department. Connie was an avid sports fan and enjoyed her Maine Black Bears and Boston Bruins hockey teams, and the Red Sox. She enjoyed gardening and spending time on Bog Lake during the summer months. Connie enjoyed cooking and getting together with large gatherings with the family where she loved seeing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed rides with her son on his party boat for evening cruises on Pushaw Lake. She touched the lives of many people and will be deeply missed by her family. Connie’s family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Ross Manor for the wonderful care she received and to her friends at Hasbrouck Court. Connie is survived by a son, Stephen R. Sinclair and wife, Eva, of Glenburn; three daughters, Susan Sinclair Chessa and husband, Chris, of Machias, Cynthia Borgos Sorel and husband, Tim, of Gainesville, Fla., and Sandra D. Hart of Davenport, Fla.; a sister, Marlene Chandler and husband, Sherwood, of Machiasport; grandchildren, Kevin R. Sinclair and wife, Teresa, Tricia Ronco and husband, Rod, Melanie J. Chaisson, Jessica Joaquin, Jennifer Joaquin and husband, Paul Cunningham; and eight great-grandchildren; a nephew, Michael; a niece, Cathy; a special niece and caregiver, Sherlene Leavitt and Jerry; and her loved cat, Nimh. Friends are invited to meet with the family 6-8 p.m. Sunday, May 16, at Brookings-Smith, Labeau Chapel, 72 Main St., Orono, where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, May 17, with the Rev. Dr. Rex H. Garrett, Director of Chaplaincy of Eastern Maine Medical Center, officiating.
