SEA CLIFF, N.Y. – Cynthia (Carroll) “Candy” Aikman, of Sea Cliff, N.Y., died Aug. 22, 2005. She was the loving wife of Robert A. Aikman Jr.; beloved mother of Robert A. Aikman III and wife, Gretchen, of Lake Stevens, Wash., James F. Aikman and wife, Allison, of Glen Head, N.Y., William A. Aikman and wife, Cathy, of Burlington, Vt.; cherished grandmother of Bobby, Hannah, Mitchell, Heather, Olivia and Samantha; adored sister of Sally and Allen Fernald of Rockport, Judy and Joe Stockbridge of Surry, Nancy and Joe Mello of North Port, Fla., Anne and Don DeGolyer of Southwest Harbor. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28, 2005, at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Southwest Harbor. Interment will follow at Mt. Height Cemetery, Southwest Harbor. The family suggests contributions in Candy’s memory to St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 253 Glen Ave., Sea Cliff, N.Y. 11579; or to the Long Island Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 200 Parkway Drive, Hauppauge, N.Y. 11788.
