BANGOR – D. Keith Parlette passed away July 23, 2004, at a Bangor hospital. Born Aug. 1, 1958, in Bluffton, Ohio, he was the son of Rev. Dale I. Parlette and Louretta M. Breitweiser Parlette. Keith worked as a custodian at the University of Maine. He was a member of the Bangor Baptist Church and also participated in the Rare Breed Association for Domestic Farm Animals. He received his bachelor’s degree in forestry from the University of Maine, and was working towards his associates degree in accounting, and also attended WanaKena. Keith enjoyed biking long distances, hiking, camping, roller blading, horse back riding, he also enjoyed riding his bike up Cadillac Mountain. He also worked at the Niagara Falls Schoellkopf Geological Museum working on the staff and building displays and also led tours of the Erie Canal which was part of his job at the museum. Keith also worked on a team of surveyors for the United States Government and went to Oregon to survey the boarder which hasn’t been done in more than 100 years. In addition to his mother, Keith is survived by his brothers, Richard D. (Alisa) Parlette of Lockport, N.Y., and Bruce A. (Sherrie) Parlette of Paden City, W.Va.; a sister, Twana Kay Parlette, also of Lockport, N.Y. He was predeceased by his father. Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Friday, July 30, at Prudden and Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport, N.Y. Memorial donations to the charity of ones choice would be appreciated by the family.
