LEVANT – Dan Thomas “Red” Fielder, 52, died April 28, 2006, at home after a brief battle with cancer. He was born Jan. 29, 1954, in Bangor, the son of Allen and Dorothy (Porter) Fielder. Dan worked for 25 years for Georgia Pacific in Bangor. He was a active member of Benevolent Lodge No. 87 AF & AM, Carmel, Penobscot Chapter No. 75, Hampden, St. John Commandery No. 3, Bangor, Anah Shriners, Bangor, where he was a member of the go-kart unit, Levant Planning Board and in past years on the Carmel Volunteer Fire Department. He is survived by his mother of Bangor; his father of New Hampshire; his wife, Becky (Wallace) Fielder of Levant; three children, Judy Bruce of Bedford, N.H., Eric Fielder and his girlfriend, Angie Bortel, of San Francisco, Calif., Jill Fielder of Levant; his brother and his wife, David Fielder and Karen; niece, Devon Fielder, all of Brewer; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Monday, May 1, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where Masonic services will be conducted 7:30 p.m. by the officers and members of Benevolent Lodge No. 87. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Brookings-Smith, Bangor with Pastor Stan Griffin of the Exeter Cornerstone Baptist Church officiating.
