was born Nov. 2, 1953, died Monday, June 19, 2006, surrounded by family and friends at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. Dana was born in Jonesport, the son of Lorraine and Alvah Curtis of Harrington. Dana acquired his morning gossip at Davis Service Station then onto the Whitehouse with his best friend, Danny, where he acquired many friends as they walked through the door. Dana loved the outdoors, roofing, carpentry, clamming and being on the Gimpy Bird lobstering with his trusted companion, “Dory Dog”. He is predeceased by his grandfather and grandmother, Richard and Laura Worcester, whom he loved to go hunting and fishing with. Dana was a man who put family first, had a giving spirit for others and a need to help in any way he could. He will be deeply missed by all. He is survived by his loving wife and friend of 33 years, Ella M. Dunphy; his daughters, Danielle D. Webster and her husband, Raymond and their twins, Tracie and Everett of Vinalhaven, Olivia Mathews and her sons, Rodney Jr. and Nicholas Dana, loving companion and first mate of the F/V Gimpy Bird, Dory Violet Dunphy “Dory Dog”. He was predeceased by his oldest daughter, Nicole Marie Dunphy; and a very special great-uncle, Hubert Worcester. He is also survived by his two sisters, Joyce Dunphy and special friend, Rona, of Calais and Paula Brann and husband, Jeff and son, Devin of Jonesboro; his brothers, Milo Dunphy of Harrington and daughter, Christina, Kevin Dunphy of Sidney and Ronald Dunphy and significant other, Hope Alley, of Beals and his children, Sonya, Heather, Kalarr and Dakota; several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews; very good friends, Obbie and Linda Davis and their children, Peter, Amanda and Samantha, and their families; a very special great-aunt, Isabella Worcester and family, Carlton and Hubene Brodie and their families. Visiting hours will be held 5-8 p.m. Thursday, June 22, and the funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, June 23. All services will be held at the South Addison Church. Private burial will be in Church Hill Cemetery, Addison.
