WEST ENFIELD – Danforth Joseph Michaud Sr., 71, husband of the late Elsie (DeLong) Michaud, passed away unexpectedly June 15, 2008, surrounded by his loving family, at a Lincoln hospital. He was born Nov. 5, 1936, in Wallagrass, the son of the late Rella (Saucier) Michaud Chesley and Samuel Michaud Sr. Danforth was an avid woods-man for many years prior to retiring from Forster’s Manufacturing, Mattawamkeag. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by six children, Dennis and Karen Michaud of Winn, Donna Michaud and Ron Birtz of Springfield, LouAnne and Mike LaFountain of Lee, Laura and Leo Mushero of West Enfield, Andrew Michaud Sr. and Joyce Houle of Howland and George Michaud and Stephanie Beesley of West Enfield; his children’s mother and his friend, Arlene Deschene; two stepchildren, Lewis Audibert and Ruth Audibert, both of Maxfield; six siblings, Cecilia and Sonny Murphy of Millinocket, Pauline Bowers of Waterville, Beatrice and Sonny Preston of Wytopitlock, Samuel Michaud Jr. of Medford, Linda and George Kimball of Woodville and Diane and Lewis Beach of Topsfield; stepbrothers, Carey and Linda Chesley, Orin and Sheila Chesley, Clif-ton Chesley and Arthur and Sally Chesley; stepsister, Amy and William Lee; 19 grandchildren, seven stepgrandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents ,and his wife, Elsie, he was predeceased by his stepfather, William Chesley; a son, Danforth Michaud Jr.; a grandson, Andrew Michaud Jr.; and a brother-in-law, Linwood Bowers Sr. Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, June 19, at St. Matthew Cemetery, West Enfield, with the Rev. Myles Cyr officiating. There will be a gathering after the service at the American Legion Hall, Lincoln. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to help with funeral expenses.
