BUCKSPORT – Melissa C. Chipman, 85, died Saturday, June 14, 2008, at a Bangor health care facility. She was born Jan. 13, 1923, the daughter of Stephen V. and Helen (Colby) Chipman. Melissa was well known for her years at Lissa’s Lunch wagon, driving the mail route and was a life long member of Verona Grange No. 206 and Hancock Pamona Grange No. 13. She is survived by her niece and nephews, Shanon Giroux and her husband, Ricky, Verne “Jake” Sutherland and his wife, Cheryl, Dwayne Sutherland and his wife, Lisa, and Wesley Sutherland. Melissa was predeceased by her sister, Alfreda Sutherland. She will be sadly missed by her dear friends, family; and caregiver, special niece, Cheryl Sutherland. A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 18, at Silver Lake Cemetery with Pastor Peter Remick officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport.
