PITTSFIELD – Daniel Carl Watson, 85, died Nov. 12, 2006, at a Pittsfield hospital. He was born April 28, 1921, in Cambridge, the oldest son of Roy and Georgia (Thurston) Watson. He graduated from Harmony High School, Class of 1939 and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Dan was a mechanic and welder by trade, retiring from the Cianbro Corp. He was a 40-year member of the Cambridge Lodge No. 157, AF & AM. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Juanita (Gross) Watson of Pittsfield; three daughters, Barbara Ladd of Poland, Deborah LaCroix and husband, Jeff, of Skowhegan, Danita Humphrey and husband, Jerry, of Newport; two brothers, Richard Watson of Harmony and Bernard Watson of Cambridge; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers, Hugh and Kenneth; and a grandson, Bertrand LaCroix. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main St., Newport.
