BELMONT – Daniel Hall Miner, 74, passed away June 14, 2004, at his home in Belmont. He was born on June 16, 1929, in Groton, Conn., the son of Owen and Gladys Miner who predeceased him. Daniel was retired from the City of Groton, Conn., Department of Utilities and enjoyed his long time love of driving trucks. This he did for both Fuller and Bartlett Construction. He was selectman for the Town of Belmont for three years, and a life member of the Masons Quantabacook Lodge 129, Searsmont, member of the Groton Lodge of Elks No. 2163, member of the American Legion Post 43, and spent many years as a volunteer fireman. He very much enjoyed gardening, fishing, his blue birds and family gatherings. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, George O. Miner; sisters, Frances Miner, Mary Sandora and Marjorie Rainy. He is survived by his wife, Lynn Miner of Belmont; son and daughter-in-law, Dan Jr. and Julie Miner of Belmont; daughters, Denise Miner of Montville, and Sherrie Miner of Spruce Head; five grandchildren, Zoe and Noah Klewin of Montville, Andrew, Sarah and Josh Miner of Belmont; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved Beagle, Kate. He will also be sadly missed by many special friends in and around Belmont. A remembrance gathering and open house will be scheduled in September.
