ORONO – Dorothy D. Nickerson, 100, wife of the late Leroy S. Nickerson, died June 14, 2004, at a Bangor healthcare facility. She was born Dec. 19, 1903, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, the daughter of George Henry and Elsie Clive (Phillips) Foster. Dorothy was a member of the Orono United Methodist Church, and Orono Women’s Club for nearly 50 years. She is survived by two daughters, Terry Totten of Pittsburgh, Pa., Jean Totten of McKinney, Texas; six grandchildren, Charles, James, Patrick, Jeffery, Kelly, and Nicholas Totten, six great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, June 17, 2004, at the United Methodist Church, 36 Oak St., Orono, with the Rev. Terence McKinley, pastor, officiating. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of service at the Church. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Orono. Gifts in her memory may be sent to the United Methodist Church, 36 Oak St., Orono.
