MAPLETON – Darrell S. Carney, 54, died unexpectedly Friday evening, Nov. 23, 2007, at a Presque Isle hospital. He was born March 24, 1953, in Ashland, the son of Stanley and Nellie (Cloukey) Carney. He worked on the farm for Willard C. Doyen & Sons for many years before becoming disabled. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Darrell enjoyed woodworking and loved playing with his granddaughter. He is survived by his mother, Nellie Carney of Presque Isle; his wife, Carla (Boyles) Carney; his daughter, Jennifer Carney and her fiance, Dale Wood; a granddaughter, Carlee Wood, all of Mapleton; two brothers, Kevin and his wife, Michele, of Ashland and Kary of Mapleton; five sisters, Judy Brown and her husband, Harvey, of Presque Isle, Flora Boucher and her husband, Rino, of Mapleton, Shirley Carney of Etna, Carol Kennedy and her husband, Steven, and Kelley Shurley and her husband, John, all of Mapleton; godchildren, Brooke and MacKenzie Carney, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Stanley; and a brother, Kenneth. Relatives and friends are invited to a supper 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, at Knights of Columbus Hall, Presque Isle, to celebrate the life of Darrell.
