WINTER HARBOR and GOULDSBORO – Elizabeth H. Young, 86, died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2007, at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital, Ellsworth. She was born April 28, 1921, in Gouldsboro, the daughter of the late Kenneth S. and Abigail (Freeman) Hamilton. Mrs. Young graduated from Winter Harbor High School and was an active member of the alumni association. Mrs. Young was a longtime employee of the family of Mr. and Mrs. F. Eugene Dixon Jr. She was a member of the Alcyone Chapter of the Eastern Star, Milbridge, for many years. She was also a member of the Acadian Women’s Club, Winter Harbor, Gouldsboro Historical Society and Gouldsboro Methodist Church. She shared 29 years of marriage with the late Charles Young, who died in 1970. Family members include her children, Susan Webber and husband, Jon, of East Blue Hill, C. Richard Young and wife, Joyce, of Winter Harbor, Keith H. Young of Winter Harbor and Mary E. Flaum and husband, Brent, of West Palm Beach, Fla.; a granddaughter, Shauna Marshall and husband, Dennis; a great-grandson, Graham Marshall, all of Simsbury, Conn.; a longtime companion, E. Bob Begley of Hancock; a sister, Claranne Pitt of Winter Harbor, many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, Howell Hamilton. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with the family 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, at Bragdon-Kelley-Campbell Funeral Home, 47 Main St., Milbridge. A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, at Gouldsboro Methodist Church, Route 186, Gouldsboro. Private graveside services will be held at South Gouldsboro Cemetery, South Gouldsboro.
