HAMPDEN – Dave William Clark, 55, passed away peacefully June 6, 2008, surrounded by his loving family at a Bangor hospital. Dave was born May 22, 1953, in Bangor, to the late Robert W. and Gwendolyn (Moores) Clark. Dave was a lifelong resident of Hampden and worked for Webber Oil as a cashier in their convenience stores. When not working Dave could be found doing what he lived for, camping and fishing. He was very proud of his affiliation with AA, successfully achieving the 12-step program. Dave was an avid John Wayne fan, to the degree that he even named his pet bird “Duke.” He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and nephew. Dave is survived by his wife, Aileen Clark; one daughter, Mandi Clark; two brothers, Dale and Dennis Clark; two sisters, Cindy Annis and her husband, Douglas, and Cheryl Clark; two stepchildren, Vic Morris Tempera and Melody Tempera; two grandsons, Micheal and Caleb Clark; a nephew, Douglas Annis Jr., a niece, Bobbi-Jean Rose; numerous other relatives and friends. Dave was predeceased by both his parents; as well as a son, James Micheal Smith. Family and friends may visit 6-8 p.m. Monday, June 9, at Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden, where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 10, with the Rev. Dr. Rex H. Garrett, Director of Chaplaincy Services at Eastern Maine Medical Center, Bangor, officiating. At the conclusion of the service, family and friends are invited to a reception at Whitcomb-Baker VFW Hall, Canoe Club Road, Hampden, for refreshments and a continued time of remembrance. Interment beside his son will be held 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 11, at Locust Grove Cemetery, Hampden. Memorial contributions in Dave’s memory may be made to the Dave W.
