SWANS ISLAND – David Alan Carlson, 54, died June 24, 2005, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Oct. 8, 1950, in Bar Harbor, the son of Sheldon H. and Betty J. (Hemming) Carlson. David was a graduate of Pemetic High School, Southwest Harbor. After graduation he worked on the state road crew for a brief time before he became a lobsterman. He was a board member of the Swans Island Electrical Co-Op. and the Fishermen’s Co-Op. David was a member and on the Board of Trustees for the Advent Christian Church. He enjoyed singing at the church. David is survived by his parents; two sons, Scott and wife, Melanie, of Dover Foxcroft, Christopher and wife, Lindsay; a brother, Donald, all of Swans Island; a sister, Anna Carr and husband, Dennis, of Northeast Harbor; four grandchildren, Elisabeth, Grace, Eric and Stanley; niece, Hilary Brady and husband, Andrew and their daughter, Katelyn; nephew, Thomas Carr and great uncle, Kenneth Turner; several cousins and many special friends. Friends are invited to call Tuesday, June 28 from 10:30 a.m. – 12 noon at the Advent Christian Church, Swans Island, where funeral services will follow at Noon with the Rev. Benjamin Redman, presiding. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, Swans Island. Those who desire may make contributions in David’s memory to the Advent Christian Church, 04685.
