CALAIS – David Arthur Waite, 69, died Saturday, Feb. 4, 2006, at his residence. David was born March 12, 1936, in Concord, Mass., son of the late Frederick and Ethel (Nicholson) Waite. He graduated from the University of Maine at Orono, with a degree in forestry. David was employed at Georgia-Pacific and Eastern Maine Electric and served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Calais Recreation Committee, Jaycee’s and coached Little League. David enjoyed hunting, trapping and fishing with his friend, Joe Krug. He was predeceased by a sister, Frances Bander; and two brothers, Charles and Donald Waite. Surviving are his wife, Joyce (Taylor) Waite; four children, Thomas Waite of Columbus, Ohio, Sharon Cosgrove and husband, Allen, of Turner, Laura Waite of Brunswick and Brian Waite and wife, Theresa, of Anchorage, Alaska; a sister, Shirley Waite of Concord, Mass.; seven grandchildren, Michael, Kristen, Mitchell, Kyra, Brooke, Aislinn and Bryn; and a great-granddaughter, Kylinn. There will be no funeral services at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations in David’s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais.
