BROOKS – David B. Roche, 76, passed away Monday, June 23, 2008, at his residence. He was born April 23, 1932, son of Raymond J. and Dorothy (Williams) Roche. He was a Marine Corps veteran serving in the Korean War and was part of the “frozen chosen.” He was captain of the fire department and retired from Billerica, Mass. He was an outstanding dairy farmer and board member of Agrimark Maine, board member of Hancock County Creamery and Waldo County Soil & Water District. David was also a member of Dresden Masonic Lodge. He served on the Brooks planning board, Brooks road committee and was a past cemetery sexton for the town of Brooks. He started the first Chelsea Volunteer Fire Department. David also started Roche Enterprises Inc., in 1985. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Frances M. (Pauline) Roche; and daughter, Frances M. Roche Bagley. Survivors include his children, David B. Roche II, Kathryn A. Roche McAvey and husband, John, Stephen J. Roche and wife, Renee, and Sarina Petrolino Roche, all of Brooks; grandchildren, Derek W. Bagley, Kaitlyn Bagley, Holly Roche, David Anthony Roche, John McAvey III and Trevor McAvey; sisters, Judy and Pat; and brother, Brendon Roche. A special thanks to daughters-in-law, Renee and Sarina, for special medical care. His wisdom will be missed greatly by all.
