BROOKSVILLE – David Frederick “Fred” Dyer, 84, passed April 27, 2006, after a period of declining health, at home. He was born May 20, 1921, in Harborside, the son of David Elwin and Evelyn (Candage) Dyer. Fred lived all his life in Brooksville. He was a wonderful builder, woodworker, avid gardener and loved hunting and fishing. He was a World War II veteran serving in Europe from December 1942 through December 1945 where he earned a Purple Heart. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Ursula (Krapf) Dyer; sons, Verl and wife, Ruth, of Virginia, Neil Dyer of Florida; daughter, Christina Leaf and husband, Tom, of Brooksville; beloved grandchildren, Gabriela and Erika Dyer and Savannah Leaf; brothers, Victor Dyer and wife, Lorraine, of Brooksville, Elmer Dyer and wife, Magda, of New York; sisters, Dorothy Bakeman of Harborside, Nellie Moores of Florida and Alice Dyer of Rhode Island. He was predeceased by two brothers, George and Lynwood; and a sister, Verna. In keeping with Fred’s wishes, graveside services will be family only. A time of sharing and celebration of his life for his family and friends will be July 22, 2006.
