BANGOR – People and their cars will be sad to know that David John Ruh-lin died Oct. 4, 2007, surrounded by his family at his home. He was born May 18, 1946, the son of James R. and Helena G. (Hewes) Ruhlin. Our father was very humble regarding his service in the U.S. Army in Vietnam and his skill as a master of all things mechanical. He had the ability to love the Maine woods and the turning of a wrench with equal passion, and found beauty and peace in both. He was a loving and devoted husband to Brenda; and father to Christopher and Michelle Ruhlin, and Jessica and Bruce Frey. He was the most wonderful Grandpa to Ethan and Eleanor Ruhlin, whom he adored. He will be greatly missed by “mum and dad,” Frank and Dolores Pierce; brothers, James, Richard and Robert; sister, Carole; and special niece, Robin James. He also loved and was loved by many nieces, nephews and in-laws. The family would like to thank the people at Varney GMC for their support and generosity. We would also like to extend a special thanks to Beverly from Eastern Maine Medical Center Hospice. There are no words to express our appreciation and gratitude for Dr. Alisa Roberts. To honor David’s wishes, there will be no services.
