BELFAST – David L. Small, 68, died unexpectedly Monday, March 27, 2006, at a Belfast hospital. David was born April 2, 1937, in Belfast, the son of Ephraim and May (Small) Small. He attended schools in Belfast and graduated from Crosby High School, Class of 1955. David served in the Air National Guard for eight years and had worked as a real estate agent for the past 13 years. He was extremely proud of his family and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Dave will be missed by his coffee buddies at Weavers and McDonalds. David was predeceased by his father. He is survived by his mother of Belfast, his wife, Adeline (Tory) Small of Belfast; his children, Betsy Small of Belfast and his son, Jamie Small of Lebanon, Maine; a brother, Richard Small and his wife, Phyllis, of Searsport; four grandchildren, Derrick Patten, Michael Patten, Mindy Patten and Anthony Canary; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by one uncle. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, March 30, at the Rackliffe Funeral Home, 54 Church St., Belfast. Burial will follow at the family lot in Smart Cemetery, Belfast. Friends are invited to call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Friends may donate to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
