MADAWASKA – David Lee Scott, 71, died at his residence Nov. 20, 2003. He was born Oct. 11, 1932, in Houlton, the son of Arthur A. Scott Sr. and Doris Brewer. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served in Germany during the Korean War. After the war he served with the U.S. Border Patrol as a radio operator. Then he transferred to the U.S. Immigration Service until his retirement in 1988. He is survived by his wife Mary (Lycette) Scott; one son, David L. Scott Jr., both of Madawaska and one daughter, Patricia Scott of Colorado; two grandchildren, Jeremy Gass and his wife, Sheena and Rebecca Gass, all of Colorado; two brothers, Ronald Scott of Connor, Arthur A. Scott Jr. of Nevada; several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews; several brothers-in-law, George Lycette and his wife, Sharon, of Houlton, Roger Lycette and his wife, Sally, of Bangor and Ronald Lycette of Amity. He was predeceased by his parents and his stepfather Vern Thurlow of whom he was very fond. Visiting hours will be at the Daigle Funeral Home 7-9 p.m. Friday and then at the Dunn Funeral Home in Houlton 7-9 p.m. Saturday. His service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at the Dunn Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Houlton after the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a Humane society or a charity of your choice.
