ST. JOHNS, Mich. – David Leon Curtis, 49, died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2006, at his home. David was born July 6, 1957, in Damariscotta, the son of Edwin H. and Kathryn (Oliver) Curtis, and resided most of his life in Maine before moving to St. Johns, Mich., in 2000. He graduated from Lincoln Academy, New Castle. On June 24, 1974, he married Regina Crossman in Damariscotta. David had worked for the John Henry Printing Co., Lansing, Mich., and was the owner of Curtis Custom Engraving. He was a member of the BNI Business Group and Bangor Bass Club. Survivors include his wife, Regina Curtis of St. Johns, Mich.; two sons, Daniel and Andrea Curtis of Hermon, and David and Pam Curtis of St. Johns, Mich.; 10 grandchildren, David III, Taran, Colt’n, MacKenzie, Krista, Kassie, Katryna, Nathin, Alyssa and Clare; mother, Katheryn Emerson of Knoxville, Iowa; one sister, Lindi Burk; four brothers, Wayne Curtis, Jimmy Emerson, Dwayne Curtis and Edwin Curtis; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Edwin Curtis; and stepfather, Raymond Emerson. Memorial services will be held 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Johns Chapel. Visitation will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, until time of services with Pastor Walter McConkey officiating. Burial will take place at Mount Rest Cemetery, St. Johns, Mich.
