NEWPORT – David Michael Gray, 53, died June 9, 2004, at a Bangor hospital following a courage yearlong battle with cancer. He was born in Dexter, Feb. 10, 1951, the son of Ernest L. and Margaret (Ryder) Gray Jr. He was educated in the Newport School system and a was a graduate of Nokomis Regional High School, Class of 1969. David was employed as an ironworker for Cianbro Corp. and several other construction companies throughout the United States. He was an avid outdoorsman especially enjoying hunting, fishing, gardening, and many other sports. He is survived by his mother, Margaret C. Gray of Newport, his fianc?e, Mary Thompson of Newport; two sons, James Gray and his fianc?e, Heather Davis, of Palmyra; John Gray of Waterville; one daughter, Heather Krupa and her husband, Todd, of Columbia, Mo.; one brother and his wife, Ernest and Gracie Gray III of Newport; one sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Guimond of Bellingham, Mass.; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He will also be remembered by many friends. He was predeceased by his father, Ernest L. Gray Jr. in January 1997 and his wife, Marcelle Gray on Oct. 17, 2002. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 11, 2004, at the Brown Funeral Home, 34 High St., Newport. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, June 12, 2004, at the funeral home with the Rev.
