HOULTON – David R. Haggerty, 64, died March 18, 2007, at a Florida hospital. He was born Sept. 3, 1942, in Houlton, the son of Henry and Annie Alberta (Estey) Haggerty. David attended Houlton schools and was a graduate of Houlton High School, Class of 1960. After graduation, he went to work for First National Bank of Houlton then started with Peoples Heritage Bank – Houlton Branch in 1977 until his retirement. David also worked part time for the U.S. Immigration Service. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Harbor Oakes, Port Orange, Fla., and attended Houlton Wesleyan Church. He was a member of Houlton Odd Fellows, Houlton Rotary Club, McGill’s Community Band, and Houlton Community Golf Course. He served on the board of directors for Houlton Regional Hospital and was a volunteer fireman for the town of Houlton. David is survived by his wife of 44 years, Lois (McLellan) Haggerty of Houlton; his children, Bruce Haggerty and his wife, Lilly, and Nancy Dow and her husband, Barry, all of Houlton; three grandchildren, Desiree Dow, Jillian and Justin Haggerty, all of Houlton; brother, Lawrence Haggerty and his wife, Carol, of Houlton; sister, Lillian Lovely and her husband, Lawrence, of New Limerick; his mother-in-law, Muriel McLellan; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; and one brother, Henry Jr. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Houlton Wesleyan Church. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at the church with the Rev. Wayne Robertson officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
