JACKMAN – David W. Allen Sr. died June 27, 2007, in Bingham. Mr. Allen was born June 28, 1930, in Norwich, Conn., son of the late Lester W. and Louise Petralj Allen. He was the owner of the former Dave Allen Excavating Co., Branford, Conn. He was a resident of Branford, Conn., for many years, prior to moving to Maine last year. He was the husband of Marian Johnson Allen formerly of Branford, Conn.; father of David W. Allen Jr. and Karen of Branford, Conn., Walter Allen and Linda Daigle of Jackman, Dawn and William Knowlton of Branford, Conn., Janet and Robert Stevens of Jackman and Janine and Joseph Lomartra of Branford, Conn.; and brother of Lester Allen of Florida, Peter Allen of New Hampshire, Robert Allen of Jackman, Paul Allen and Harold Allen, both of Nevada. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by three sons, Michael, James and Kenneth Allen; a daughter, Anne Allen; four brothers, Arthur, Richard, Lawrence and William Allen; and a sister, Louise Lacasse. Relatives and friends are invited to call 4-7 p.m. Sunday at W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 504 Main St., Branford, Conn., where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Monday.
