ABBOT – David W. Knowles, 49, died unexpectedly on Nov. 7, 2004, at his favorite place in the world, his camp on Whetstone Pond. He was born June 17, 1955, the son of Robert and Marilyn Knowles. David was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoying the outdoors all of his life. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Marilyn and William Haskell of Guilford; a sister and her husband, Linda and Frank Gilbert of Abbot; nieces, Kristen Snowden of Guilford, Pam Gilbert of Nevada, and Peggy Bowley of Guilford; and nephew, Gus Snowden of Abbot; several aunts and uncles. David is also survived by Rusty, his beloved dog; and very close friends, Ralph Williams, Steve Ramsay, and David Marchand. He was predeceased by his father, Robert D. Knowles; and a brother, Michael D. Knowles. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004, at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 21 Oak St., Guilford. A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, at the Blanchard Cemetery in Abbot with the Rev. Ray Beless officiating.
