HOWLAND – Dean E. Maynard, 67, died peacefully, Oct. 21, 2003, at the home of his sister in Howland. He was born in Lincoln, Feb. 3, 1936, the son of Harvey and Florence (Currier) Maynard. He lived in Old Town most of his life, where he worked at Striar’s for many years. He also worked for Ireland’s Rubbish for a while. He is survived by one brother, Calvin Maynard of Lincoln; two sisters, Sandra Merrill of Howland and Francena Gagliardi of Naples, Fla. He also leaves a special friend, Leroy Tinney and also his faithful dog, “Rusty.” Friends may call from 12 noon-2 p.m. Friday at the Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Tim Shaw officiating. Interment will be in Lincoln Cemetery at a later date.
