MARS HILL – Deanna L. Collins, 63, died Thursday, June 15, 2006, at a Presque Isle hospital. She was born April 11, 1943, in Mars Hill, the daughter of Orman and Ruby (Crouse) Murphy. Deanna was a graduate of Aroostook Central Institute, a member of the National Honor Society and held a state office. She married her husband, Dana Collins and they raised their two sons, David and Darren, in Mars Hill, where she operated an insurance agency for F.A. Peabody, was a manager for Newberry’s, worked at Chadwicks Florist and was employed at Southern Acres Boarding Home. Deanna was a member of the community club, and she loved taking pictures and did many professional photographs for people. Her favorite past time was babysitting her grandchildren. She is survived by her two sons, David and his wife, Dawn, of Mars Hill, Darren and his wife, Michelle, of Mapleton; grandchildren, Dayna, Elizabeth, Liddia; two brothers, Robert Murphy and his wife, Amber, of Monmouth, Stephen Murphy of Mars Hill; two sisters, Linda Gallop and her husband, Ronald, of Mars Hill and Susan Fulton and her husband, Rodney, of Westfield; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Dana in 1996. A graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday at Tapley Cemetery with Pastor Lawrence Beals officiating.
