OLD TOWN – Delores “Del” A. Madore, 72, died March 19, 2006, at a Bangor hospital after a long illness. He was born Oct. 17, 1927, in Old Town, a son of Adelord A. and Doris E. (Kitchen) Madore. Del worked for many years in the shoe factories and later retired from Old Town Canoe after 20 years of service. He enjoyed working in the woods, golfing, bowling, fishing, watching wildlife and playing guitar and harmonica with family and friends. He is survived by five children, a son, Gary Madore and his wife, Carol, of Preston, Conn., four daughters, Shelia Ames and her husband, Dwayne, of Edgewater, Fla., Bonita Dupuis and her husband, John, of Boothbay, Tanya Jarvis and her husband, David, of Randolph, Edith Rogers and her husband, Kenneth, of Brewer; a stepdaughter, Sandra Ellis and her husband, Barry, of Guilford; two brothers, Donald Madore of Bucksport and Kenneth Madore of Glenburn; a sister, Elaine Rideout of Bangor; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Delores was predeceased by his first wife of 23 years, Elaine Madore; and his second wife of 18 years, Muriel Madore; two daughters, Sylvia Violette and infant Elaine Madore; and an infant son, Bruce Madore. A memorial service will be celebrated 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Birmingham Funeral Home, 438 Main St., Old Town, where family and friends may call 1 p.m. until time of service. Private interment will be at Milford Cemetery.
