VANCEBORO – Delores Mae “Dottie” (Varney) Watson, 62, formerly of Yalesville, Conn., passed away Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2006, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born Nov. 28, 1943, in Biddeford, to the late William and Reta (DeWitt) Varney. She was the beloved wife of Arthur Watson for 45 years. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Watson worked as a waitress and operated her own business, Dot’s Cleaning Service. She was a member of the Wallingford Elks, the Red Hats Society and a former member of the Eastern Star. In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children of Connecticut, Joyce Perillo and her husband, John, of Wallingford, Doug Watson and his wife, Joan, of Meriden, Troy Watson and his wife, Jeannette, of Wallingford and David Watson and his wife, Laura, of Wallingford; three sisters, Barbara Grass of Weston, Gerri Tuck of Wallingford, Conn., and Georgia Harriman of Topsfield; six grandchildren, Michael Perillo, Ashley Watson, Adam Perillo, Garrett Watson, George Watson and Jeannette Watson; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, William LeRoy Watson; two brothers, Fred and Maurice Varney; and her loving and faithful companion, “the Duke.” Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, at the Methodist Church, Vanceboro.
