MAPLETON – Delta F. Smith, 105, passed away May 21, 2007, at Leisure Village, Presque Isle. She was born Nov. 29, 1901, in Presque Isle, the daughter of C. Lewis and Christina (Bird) Griffin. She was Mapleton’s oldest citizen. Delta is survived by her son, Russell Smith and his wife, Alicia, of Mapleton; two grandsons, Terry Smith and his wife, Paula, of Cumberland and Timothy Smith and his wife, Donna, of Georgetown; four great-grandchildren, Lisa, Kristin, Adam, and Hannah. She was predeceased by her husband, Lionel E. Smith; two brothers and a sister. At her request there will be no calling hours. A graveside committal service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, June 2, at Southside Cemetery, Mapleton, with the Rev. Ken Phelps and Timothy Smith officiating.
