MILBRIDGE – Douglas W. Dow Sr., 75, died unexpectedly May 22, 2007, at his home. He was born Jan. 15, 1932, in Milbridge, the son of the late Charles and Olive (Merchant) Dow. Mr. Dow was a self-employed general contractor in Milbridge and surrounding communities for more than 50 years operating under the name D.W. Dow General Contracting. He was an avid baseball fan especially enjoying the Red Sox. Family include his wife, Marilyn (Stanwood) Dow of Milbridge; a son, Douglas W. Dow Jr. and wife, Marita, of Omaha, Neb.; a daughter, Debra (Dow) Felix and husband, Leif, of Milbridge; two grandchildren, Christopher Dow and wife, Amy, of Omaha, Neb., and Alora Felix of Milbridge; a great-granddaughter, Elly Dow of Omaha, Neb.; two brothers, Charles “Bucky” Dow of Brooks and Lawrence Dow of Milbridge; a sister, Phyllis Pollak of Quincy, Mass.; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two older brothers, Elmer and Earl Dow. Private graveside services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, Milbridge.
