MILBRIDGE – Delvine E. Haskell, 77, passed away unexpectedly Aug. 4, 2005, surrounded by her family at an Ellsworth hospital. She was born May 13, 1928, in Harrington, the fourth daughter of Amos and Atholia Sprague. Delvine, “Dellie” was known for her kind heart and will always be remembered for her soft smile; her sewing, crocheting, gardening, and cooking; her beautiful voice and ability to play the piano; along with her strong love and admiration for her family. She attended schools in Milbridge, where she continued to raise her family of four and operate F.W. Burnham Company with her husband Colon from 1962-1983. Additionally, she was an active member of the Milbridge Fire Department as a dispatcher, deputy town fire warden, and auxiliary member from 1965-2000. Dellie was also a sister of the Order of Eastern Star Alcyone No. 71. In addition to her husband, Colon, of 59 years; she will be sadly missed by her children, Bonnie Crosby, Fred Haskell and companion, Valerie Curtis, and Kathy Young and her husband, Steve, all of Milbridge, and James Haskell and his wife, Colleen, of Addison; grandchildren, Beth Hartford and her husband, Brent, of Milbridge, Colon Haskell and his wife, Lynnette, of Machias, Shawna Call and her husband, Robert, of Steuben, Clint and Joseph Haskell of Addison; great-grandchildren, Katelyn Hartford of Milbridge and Kasey Call of Steuben; sisters, Winona Bradbury of Milbridge, Maxine Pottle and her husband, Merton, of Surry; sister-in-law, Patricia Johnston and her husband, Wayne, of Nobleboro; brother-in-law, Peter Sawyer of Milbridge; many special nieces, nephews and cousins. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2005, at the Evergreen Cemetery, Milbridge, with Rev. Joyce Ingrisano officiating.
