PATTEN – Delwin C. Messer, 74, died Feb. 13, 2006, in Patten. He was born April 22, 1931, in LaGrange, the son of Cecil and Dorothy (McKenney) Messer. Del enjoyed watching NASCAR and especially Jeff Gordon winning and running errands for the local storekeepers in Patten where he will be sadly missed. He is survived by two brothers, Gary and his wife, Sheila and Michael, all of Bangor; two loving aunts, Phyllis McKenney Harrington and Thelma McKenney Pike; several nieces, nephews and cousins; three very close friends, Marty Arbo, Steve Richardson and Dick Somers. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Stetson Memorial United Methodist Church, Patten, with the Rev. Tae Sung Kang officiating. Spring interment will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery, La Grange. Donations in Del’s memory may be made to the Mount Heights Nursing Home Activity Fund, Patten, ME 04765.
