BANGOR – Mary F. Plummer, 79, died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006, at her home. She was born May 4, 1926, in Bangor, the daughter of Ora F. and Mary (Hughes) Black. She was proud of being a homemaker and worked for Rines Company in her younger years. Mary was a life-long communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Mary is survived by a son, John A. Plummer Jr. and his wife, Theresa; two granddaughters, Julie Russell and Angie Plummer, all of Bangor; a son, James P. Plummer and his wife, Pamela; one grandson, J. Paul Plummer, all of Freeport; brothers, Ed Black of Ellsworth, Martin Black of Bangor, James Black of Eddington; sisters, Bette McCullough of Nobleboro, Patricia Mills and Madalyn St. Pierre of Manchester, N.H., Gloria Black of Bangor; a special friend, Linda Steeves of Bangor. In addition to her parents and her husband of 53 years, John A. Plummer Sr., Mary was predeceased by her sisters, Marilyn Gallant, Vera Kelleher and Irene Hull; brothers, Ora Black Jr. and Joseph Black. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 754 Ohio St., Bangor. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Bangor. Those who wish to remember Mary in a special way may make gifts in her memory to a charity of one’s choice.
