LIBERTY – Dennis J. Libby, 65, died peacefully Aug. 9, 2008, surrounded by his family at home. He was born Aug. 11, 1942, in Skowhegan, the son of Charles and Sara (Murphy) Libby. He was retired from the U.S. Navy and worked for many years for the U.S. Post Office in central and coastal Maine. He loved motorcycles and was a member of the Goldwingers. He and Bonnie enjoyed traveling and have been in all 50 states and provinces of Canada. He also enjoyed ATV-ing and was a member of Friends and Neighbors ATV Club. He was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Bonnie Libby of Liberty; a son, Douglas Libby of Washington state; two daughters, Barbara Jean Sholler of Utah and Bobbie Jo Johnson of Liberty; and six grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of his life 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15, at Dennis and Bonnie’s home, 251 Robert Shore Road, Liberty. Friends are asked in lieu of flowers, to make donations to Alfond Center for Cancer Care, 361 Old Belgrade Road, Augusta, ME 04330. Arrangements are under the care of Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast.
