DETTMAR JONES SALEM, Ore. – Dettmar Jones passed away July 3, 2004. He was raised in Hampden, and Melrose, Mass. He moved to Oregon in 1961. Dettmar was employed by the Oregon State Highway Division for 19 years. He was a graduate of Harvard University. He was married for 60 years and loved to travel. Survivors include his wife, Ione Hammond Jones, whom he married on Aug. 23, 1943; daughter, Sharon Jones of Elko, Nev.; son, Charles Jones of Placentia, Calif.; brother, Norman Jones of Sunnyvale, Calif.; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
